The students have been participating in the Links to Learning program working in collaboration with Eurobodalla Shire Council.
Links to Learning Program Facilitator, Julia Willson said the boys created a natural wall of natives to protect Little Lake, and keep its inhabitants safe from harm and the road.
Links to Learning is a program ran by the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre to build upon students self confidence, resilience and overall enthusiasm to school.
"The boys took to the land care activities with so much enthusiasm,” Ms Willson said..
“It is so nice to get teens off screens and into the bush, especially doing a project for the community.
“They have done a tremendous job and should be really proud of their efforts," she said.
“The boys used small hand tools to put the plants into the ground, and water crystals to keep them nice and hydrated.
They have also been working out the back of the school removing lantana which is a highly invasive and debilitating weed in coastal areas.”.
Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Environment Project Officer, Emma Patyus has been very impressed with the boys commitment and enthusiasm for the tasks.
“Who knows? There might just be a couple of future landscape gardeners in our group - you did a great job guys! “
