And a heartfelt welcome back to Numnutz stalwart and media man Stan Gorton, returning from a visit to South Australia's Kangaroo Island.
Our normal course master Jason Hextel was away catching up with his former Wollongong Steelers footy team mates, so fine master Brent Lockton stepped up and chose a swim out off the ocean beach and back in through the bar.
The 15 'Nutz headed out around the north breakwall and into the entrance, and into the cold water of the last of the outgoing tide.
Thanks Locko, New Zealand must have a different direction for their tides over there. Making our way back into the inlet and time for Podge's customary joke, although everyone had to keep kicking to avoid being pushed back out to sea.
A long swim back to some much appreciated hot drinks at Radio Ray's card table. As usual Ray was eager to log off with Marine Rescue to say the Numnutz had completed their swim, however the response back on radio was that there was one swimmer still out in the channel.
Many thanks to Pat O'Shea at Marine Rescue for keeping a sharp eye out, and as always looking after our safety by letting the boaties know that there are swimmers out there.
Back then to Numnutz H.Q. for some delicious soup at the Raw Prawn Bistro deck, out in the warm sun. The usual fine session was dealt with and some general business including planning for our annual end of season trip which will be on the last weekend of October - 26-28. Numbers in this week if possible.
