Members will be updated with progress on finding the stories and faces behind the names on Narooma’s First World War Honour Rolls. Society president Laurelle Pacey said the stories would make up half the exhibition.
“Sylvia Gauslaa and I have worked with families wherever possible,” Ms Pacey said.
“The rest of the exhibition, also done by Society members, will look at what was happening here during the war, including its impact on local industries, recruitment, families, as well as the local aftermath, including the influenza epidemic.”
She said the exhibition was funded by a Saluting their Service grant from the Australian Government. The Society meets in the School of Arts Studio – behind the BP – from 2pm, on Sunday, August 19. Everyone is welcome.
