On Thursday, September 20, a group of bushwalkers explored the area around Stony Creek and Hulleys Road in Bodalla.
The nine-kilometre walk took them through the bush paths in the area, where they enjoyed the tall spotted gums and other vegetation along the aptly named Stony Creek.
This same walk was cancelled last year due to flooding, but this year the group thanked Kerren Ogg for guiding them around the area.
On Saturday, September 22, a group of nine explored Little Belimbla Creek mine, west of Nerrigundah.
The mine is beside a stream that flows into Little Belimbla Creek, which has a dam and all the supporting mine equipment.
A trolley used to run on railway lines between the outside mining equipment and the interior of the mine. There were no unwanted created inside the mine, so the group had plenty of time to explore.
The hilly countryside provided good views of the valleys and beyond towards Belowra. The bushwalk was only seven kilometres which allowed plenty of time for exploring and taking photos. Jan Thomas led the walk.
