The top spot in A grade today went to Wayne Buick (hcp 5) with plus 3. Then followed visitor Alistair Haughie (hcp 11) on plus 1 and Bill McKenzie (hcp 13) on square.
Ashley Lamb (hcp 16) snared 1st place in B grade with a best of the day; plus 6. Then followed Greg Cummins (hcp 20) with plus 4 and Graeme Struthers (hcp 17) on plus 3.
C grade saw Santiago (Bruno) Valle (hcp 26) take the win with plus 3 shading Ian Reid (hcp 29) on plus 1 and Les Atlee (hcp 35) square with the card.
Saturday, November 10 - Stableford
After a countback the A grade winner today was David Chamberlin (hcp 14) shading Mick Carr (hcp 13) both on a best of the day score of 42 points. Ian Campbell (hcp 9) from Yering Meadows was next on 34.
Showing no respect for his elders in the required countback Darren Redman (hcp 16) took the win in B grade shading Jim Manton (hcp 20) both on 37. Then followed Paul Batten (hcp 16) on 35.
Yet another countback saw Mick Smith (hcp 28) win C grade from Santiago (Sabatini) Valle both on 40 points. Then came Tom Boyd (hcp 28) on 37.

Thursday, November 8
An excellent field of 155 players enjoyed delightful conditions which resulted in a DSR of 72/71.
In A Grade John Rimmer from Thirteenth Beach enjoyed his continued association with the course in registering 41 points off his handicap of 13.
Colin O’Sullivan was second on 39 points with Doug Morey heading Bill Durnan on countback with 38 points to take third place.
In B Grade Peter Jones finally finished on top in scoring 40 points off his handicap of 20, followed by Wayne Rollings on 38 points while Chris Goldsmith edged out Bob Piper on countback with 37 points to fill the third position.
C Grade saw a three-way countback on 41 points where Robert Saunders from Ryde-Parramatta triumphed off his handicap of 25, followed by Harold Mackie and Scott Muir from Campbelltown in the minor positions.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Jim Hoar on 3, Geoff Lanham on 9, Jon Guyver on 14 and Greg Riley on 17 , while the ball competition went down to 34 points.
Friday, November 9
A field of 140 players hit off in the opening event of the Narooma Open. the Fourball, and the excellent conditions produced the highest scores in recent memory.
In the gross Rustin Emery and Nathan Rees from Gold Creek on handicaps of 8 and 2 respectively edged out Hayden Lang from Narooma and Tim Norris from Woolooware on countback with 39 points, with Alan Wilder from Young and Greg Maloney from Bermagui missing out on countback.
In the net the Thurgoona pair of Chris McGaffin off 17 and Barry Wynd off 26 registered the almost unbelievable score of 53 points, including 29 points on the back nine.
Runners-up were Aaron Goode and Tim Smith from Yass on 51 points, with another Yass pair of Adam Danilczak and Peter Timmer missing out on countback.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Cameron Jones from Young on 3, Ben Howchin from The Grange on 9, Scott Cameron from Queanbeyan on 14 and Barry Wynd on 17, while the ball competition went down to 45 points.
Saturday, November 10
A final field of 203 players teed off in the first round of the Open and again excellent conditions favoured good scoring with a resultant DSR of 72/71.
In A Grade the gross went to Scott Ker of Narooma with a three-under-par round of 69, one better than Rhys Dunlop from Catalina.
The net resulted in a three-way countback on 68, with Tim Smith from Yass and Mitchell Austin from The Grange enjoying the spoils and Harry Smith from Queanbeyan missing out.
In the B Grade gross Tony Moufarrige from Royal Military College registered a fine score of 77 off the stick to win by 4 shots from Narooma’s Hayden Lang. Don McKinnon from Monash took out the net with 69 ahead of Franco Cerundolo from Gungahlin Lakes on 70.
In C Grade the gross was won by Hayden McDonald from Yass with the outstanding score of 81, 7 better than Gerry Johnson from Murrumbidgee.
The net was won by another Murrumbidgee player in Dien Huynh with 69 while Barry Wynd from Thurgoona took second place with 72 on countback from Steve O’Neill from Queanbeyan, Donn Jefferis from Federal and Richard Armstrong from Murrumbidgee.
The long drives were taken out by Azriel Kelly from Yowani in A Grade, Teague Baldry from Murrumbidgee in B Grade and Steve Dewar from Young in C Grade.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Michael Baltyn from Wollongong on 3, Daryl Haplin from The Grange on 9, Scott Ker on 14 and Harry Smith on 17, while the ball competition went down to 75 net.
Sunday, November 11
Again excellent conditions greeted the field for the second round of the Open where the DSR was 73/72. In A Grade Michael Cooke from Catalina prevailed in the scratch score with a score of 71 well ahead of Dylan Humphries from The Grange on 74.
Mark Anderson from Narooma won the net with a score of 68 off his handicap of 6 to win by one shot from Cumberland’s Adam West who edged out Ben Sharman from Yowani on countback.
Michael Crandell from Wollongong took out the B Grade scratch with a score of 80, two better than Scott Cameron from Queanbeyan. Beau Watts from Queanbeyan won the net with 70 , one better than Steve Brooks from Catalina who headed both Ashley Smith from Pymble and Don McKinnon from Monash on countback.
Narooma’s Ray Gale won C Grade gross with 90 to head Jeff Ryan from Albury Commercial by one shot while Darrin Knight from Catalina headed the net field with 68, two better than Drazen Persic from ACT Serbian.
Paul Galea from The Grange won the A Grade long drive, Josh Howard from Murrumbidgee the B Grade and Shaun Rolfe from Young the C Grade.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Mick Howe from Federal on 3, Rustin Emery from Gold Creek on 9, Matthew Barnes from The Ridge on 14 and Beau Watts on 17, while the ball competition went down to 76 net.
The winner of the 2018 Narooma Open was Scott Ker from Narooma, the lowest marker in the field, who fulfilled a life-long ambition with his gross score of 145.
Michael Cooke from Catalina was runner-up on 150 after edging out last year’s winner Robbie Furner on countback. Tim Norris won the A Grade net with a score of 142 on countback from Mitchell Austin from The Grange with Tim Smith from Yass missing out.
The B Grade gross was a Narooma tussle with Phil Haynes edging out Hayden Lang on countback on 165. In fact, it was Lang’s third loss on countback over the weekend.
Don McKinnon from Monash won the net with 145 ahead of Greg Black from Long Reefon 145.
The C Grade gross saw a very clear winner in Hayden McDonald from Yass with a score of 172, well ahead of Gerry Johnson from Murrumbidgee on 181. Jeff Ryan from Albury Commercial won the net with a score of 141 ahead of Andrew Wise from Marrickville on 144.
