Batemans Bay Police are seeking to upgrade an assault charge against former Eurobodalla Shire councillor Milton Leslight.

Leslight, 68, of Batehaven, appeared in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, November 12, maintaining a plea of not guilty to one count of common assault.
Prosecutor John De Laroche told Magistrate Doug Dick a fresh charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm would be filed.
Police say the alleged assault occurred just after midday on July 28 in Batemans Bay.
Leslight entered a plea of not guilty in Batemans Bay Local Court at an earlier appearance on October 15.
The matter will return to court for hearing on January 31, 2019.
Leslight was elected to Eurobodalla Shire Council as a member of the ERA in 2012, serving until 2016.
