AFL 9s at Bermagui

Wednesday, October 16: The mixed competition starts for the AFL 9s mixed competition at Dickenson Oval in Bermagui. The competition runs for nine weeks with the first games at 6pm and a second game time at 6.45pm. The cost per team is $400. Register online at afl9s.com.au. Literary Salon workshops

Thursday, October 17: At the Narooma Library from 1pm-2.30pm. Participants will be guided through the process behind the Literary Salon Exhibition at the Bas, in which artists; visual, literary and musical create work inspired from each other's creative process. Bring a picture of your favourite artwork and learn how to find inspiration within it to create a literary work of your own. Free event. Bookings essential.

Intro to Surf Life Saving drones

Saturday, October 19: As part of the Branch Powercraft weekend at Tathra surf club will host a session in the afternoon for anyone interested in taking their UAV pilot training for this season. This session is for those who are interested but want to know more about the program and don't already have their UAV pilot award. From 1pm to 4pm. RSVP: fsclifesaving@gmail.com by COB Thursday.

Documentary screening

Sunday, October 20: Freedom for the Wolf by Rupert Russell in the Old Cobargo Butter Factory at 3.30pm. Filmed over three years in five countries, Freedom for the Wolf is an epic investigation into this new regime of illiberal democracy. A ground-breaking original statement on the status quo of global politics, Freedom for the Wolf is the first film that provides the global context for understanding the Trump phenomenon. $5 donation appreciated.

Saturday, October 26: The Classic and Vintage Motor Club invite the public to check out the Show and Shine Day at the Moruya Riverside Park. View and judge the vehicles on display.

Catch up with a cop

Wednesday, October 30: Join South Coast Police District Crime Prevention Unit at Narooma Visitor Centre, Princes Highway from 11.30am to 1pm for a friendly chat and sausage sizzle. Information on home and vehicle security and personal safety provided.

Thursday, October 31: Free community BBQ at Quota Park, Riverside Drive, Narooma from 12pm to 2pm. Blankets, toiletries and food will be available. Drug and alcohol-free event.

Renewable Energy Expo

Saturday, November 2: Meet manufacturers, suppliers and installers in the Renewable Energy sector. From 10am to 4pm in Narooma Sport &Leisure Centre. Entry is by gold coin donation. More information at expo.naroomarotary.org.au.

Cuppa Shred 

Saturday, December 7: South Coast bandCuppa Shred are returning home for a gig at the Moruya Waterfront. Support acts include: Blackout Fun Club (Wollongong), Potent Soap (Batemans Bay) and Fika (Wollongong).

It's Cuppa Shred's first gig since February, and they're expecting a huge crowd.

Cobargo Creators annual exhibition

Friday, November 15: Last day to hand in artworks at Cobargo Creators, 60 Princes Highway, Cobargo. Non-member $5, members free. Explore the space of the ubiquitous milk crate and see what happens when you create with, in or on a milk crate. Your artwork can take any form and in any medium but must be delivered in a milk crate.

November 23 - December 7: Exhibition period.

Books in a Box

November 16 - 17: Join award-winning book artist and book designer Avril Makula for a weekend of creative bookmaking at Cobargo School of Arts Hall. $190 per person.
