Monty’s Place has been providing Narooma with a delicious and nutritious two-course meal, and great company, every Wednesday from 12pm to 1.30pm.
The number of guests has grown to an average of 80 per week, and on special occasions and Christmas as many as 100.
Monty’s has a wonderful crew of happy and enthusiastic volunteers who prepare food, set-up the dining room, meet and greet, and wait on our lovely guests, wash-up and clean up after the meal.
Monty’s volunteers say working at Monty’s Place allows them to give back to the community and they love to see people, with often serious problems, benefiting from both the good food and the good company. But Monty’s is always on the lookout for new volunteers.
Homelessness NSW, Anglicare, Legal Aid and Pathways Drug and Alcohol Program still pay regular visits to support our guests and other members of the Narooma Community.
Our many wonderful sponsors allow us to provide this service both through financial support and through many generous contributions in-kind.
While cutting the birthday cake, Monty’s Place committee chair Barry Flanagan thanked guests, volunteers and sponsors, saying how very proud he was of all who had made it possible to continue this wonderful community service for such a long time.
He said he looked forward to Monty’s contributions many years to come.
