Narooma’s veteran crew of sweep Brendan Constable, Jai Constable, Nigel Constable, Rod Patmore, and Troy Beecham won the veteran division on the day.
Several other crews met with misadventure as the surf at Narooma can be very unforgiving.
The carnival hosts also did the club proud with providing seamless boat towing logistics, a BBQ pop-up shop, water-safety assistance, official duties, and a beach patrol on the day.
The club backed up again on Sunday when they sent a contingent to the Junior Nippers Carnival at Bermagui Surf Club.
A good number of kids from Narooma attended, including a number of under 8s making their debut at the carnival.
Narooma managed some outstanding performances in the beach runs, beach sprints, flag events, and Iron Man/Diamond Lady events before the day was called off half-way through due to gale-force winds.
A huge thanks is extended to the age managers, parents, and officials from our club who helped on the day.
The club looks forward to more carnivals later in the surf season, and is very happy with its start to the carnival line up.
