Club Dalmeny

Results for week ending January 6

Monday’s game in warm humid conditions had 38 players on the green and with the lowest winning margin deciding the winners on 3 in John Oar-ley, Browny and Peter Hit-Holden and the runners-up on 4 after a countback were Steal Coulson, Bruce Cover-outs and Barry Arminter.

Barry also took out the first resting toucher but the $173 Jackpot was not won.

The wrong bias sinners included Windy Ray, Doug Metal and John Oar-ley while the raffle prizes were won by Rifleman Reg, Fighting Frank (twice, standing in for Con or Ian) and Terry Jones-ling.

Don’t forget ladies, you are welcome to join in the usual Monday and Thursday games during January.

Another quiet Thursday afternoon with numbers bolstered by 4 Tuross bowlers saw 18 on the green in the continuing warm humid conditions with teams allotted by Leroy which saw those bowlers clean up when the largest winning margin was drawn as the game decider and with 25 Di (Fletcher) Jones, Graham or Stuart and Joel Mountain-ards won from the locals on 20 in the Foot-sen couple Chris and Finn with Marg Joiner.

Another local, Scarf-man Jack took out the only resting toucher and the only wrong bias sinner was that other Tuross bowler in Colin F-Jones while that number 25 came out (drawn by the Goose) for the $310 jackpot winners which included the entire Tuross contingent, who said they had a great day, plus 2 locals in Pat, Ron, Jim or Harold and the Goose.  Prizes in the raffle went to Marg Joiner, Pete Mur-100, Col F-J, Hi-ain’t MacGregor, Ian East-off and Chef Keith.

It was great to see a full house of 42 twilight bowlers (thanks to many holiday-makers) filling the green with the winners being Michael or Graham, Fighting Frank and Postman Joe from the runners-up in Hobson’s pick Jeff, Bruce A1-T-Ken and Peter the Pom.

No resting toucher was recorded but the Southern Eurobodalla Plumbing lucky $10 draw went to the Ferret and Melissa won the Bound 2 Earth Shop 2 free cups of coffee.

The Friday twilight game is open to all over the age of 12, both male and female, so come along and enjoy two hours of fun but please get your names down on the sign-up sheets by 4.45pm for the 5.30pm start.

Nick Tiyce and Stuart Megee put on a brilliant performance with both bowlers putting on a masterclass of draw bowls. It was nip and tuck throughout the match and the game went down to the wire with Nick Tiyce eventually winning 31 to 29. Congratulations to both lads on a great contest.

Donation to Broulee Bush Fire Brigade: We invited representatives of the Broulee Bush Fire Brigade to join us on Monday. The Mens Bowling Club was pleased to present the brigade with a cheque for $1000. This donation was from funds raised during social bowls where bowlers are fined for delivering a wrong bias or other misdemeanours. A big thank you to all those bowlers who made voluntary contributions.
