The product of positive collaboration between frontman Dan White, Kiwi darling Emjay Angeni, sax man Lindsay Baker and many musicians from the wider Collective, their latest offering is an album spanning countries, cultures and communities.

Their latest single ‘Eye Of The Needle’ (featuring Sol from Band of Frequencies) is the finest example to date of the Collective's feel-good roots with a touch of reggae.

Singles ‘Wattle Tree Corroboree’, ‘Dive’ and title track ‘Wake Up To The Sound’ have attracted widespread airplay through 2018 and earned the band a nomination for West Australian Music’s Best Regional Act.

Featuring Bobby Alu on drums/percussion, Ken Allars (Caravana Sun) on trumpet/keys, OJ Newcomb (Band Of Frequencies/THUMP) on bass and Angela Iimura on BV’s, plus special features from Sol Carroll (Band Of Frequencies/Afro Dizzi Act) on vocals and Taro Terahara on bansuri, the album is truly a collective effort exemplifying what can be achieved through human connection.

Recorded on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Wake Up To The Sound is a sonic journey in which the magic of the location can be heard – from thunderstorms to singing tropical birdlife – yet will transport listeners far beyond their own backyard.

Building on a solid foundation resulting from years of national and international touring, the album will propel the Collective beyond their home shores yet again in 2019 as the ‘culture of connection’ movement continues to grow from another sound release, with plenty more to come.
