The Goose was riding shotgun (at least he can return fire) with his wing-mate so once again only book results (with bits missing, maybe due to some wild return shot or the ink ran off with the quill) for Monday’s game in warm humid conditions for the 30 players where secret ends decided the winners and on an unbelievable 19 (against the Windy/Grant/Kennedy collection) were Rifeman Reg, Tom’s son Danny and Bad-rim Daryl with the runners-up on 10 in Pete Mur-100, Bluey Ralph and gospeller Bob.
Danny-boy also took out the first resting toucher but the $203 jackpot was not won. The wrong bias sinners and raffle prize winners again scored non-convictions and/or notifications respectively. Don’t forget ladies, you are welcome to join in the usual Monday and Thursday games during January.
A near perfect Thursday afternoon, at least during bowling hours, with numbers sadly down again to 24 and reduced to 23 by our President Pete dropping out due to something he ate allowing a fit looking Nan Maureen to swing for the rest of the afternoon.
In doing so, she joined the winning team with 221/2 points of Roy Falkiner and Chef Keith while the runners-up on 22 points were scarf-man Jack, Bluey Ralph and gospeller Bob.
No one scored a resting toucher nor did the $100 jackpot go off. The only wrong bias sinner was our regular Neil while the raffle prizes went to the usual same-old faces in Hi-ain’t MacGregor, cobber Dudley, John Ver-4-leather, organiser Dine-back Streamer, Marg Ponder and Lee Roy.
Sadly on Friday afternoon an hour before the Twilight start, down came the rain and persisted through to the normal finishing time then moved off leaving us with a cloudless starlit night and contemplating what might have been for the 30 starters who would have been on the green. Let’s hope for some kinder weather next week.
The Friday twilight game is open to all over the age of 12, both male and female, so come along and for $10 entry (bowls supplied) enjoy two hours of fun and prizes.
Please get your names down on the sign-up sheets by 4.45pm for the 5.30pm start.

Men’s 4’s Finals: January 12
As you would expect there were some very close scores during this competition overall with the wet weather forcing both the semi-final and final being played on the same day. In the semi, Butt, Armstrong, Herman and Bowater got home against Dillon, Cummins, Palmer and Gale 19-17. But the final proved to be different with Nev Butt, Col Armstrong, Dave Herman and Keith Bowater 20-9 winners over Warren Bender, Jeremy Seaton, Peter Robson and John Downie.
Sunday Social: January 13

Narooma Women
Narooma Womens Bowls Club ladies returned to play on January 8, with the weather being very mild until about lunch time when it became quite hot.
As this was the second Tuesday of the month it was our first Mad Tuesday for the year, with the colour purple our dress code for the day.
Best dressed went to Gail Palmer and the resting toucher also going to Gail Palmer, well done Gail.
There were 2 rinks of triples and 1 rink of pairs. The winning leads out of the hat were Maureen Finlay and shared with Lorraine Mitchell from rink (3), the winning second/skip from rink (4) Sandra Breust and the skip from rink (2) Merrie Downie.
