Rural Fire Service spokesperson Marty Webster said crews from Potato Point, Bodalla, and Tuross Head were on their way to a bushfire on Horse Island.
Moruya Fire and Rescue are also on their way to the scene.
The fire was first reported on Fires Near Me at 12.20pm on Tuesday, February 12.
Horse Island is located approximately 200 metres off the western coast of Tuross Head, and lies at the mouth of the Tuross River estuary.
The island is famous for a flock of emus that were brought to the region by businessman Trevor Kennedy in the 1990s. Those emus have since escaped to the mainland, and can be seen from Tuross Head through to Narooma.
