How to spend Shire's drought relief funds?
The Eurobodalla Shire avoided the worst of the drought, but had plenty of compassion for those in other parts of the state.
Residents turned our in droves for Raindances in Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma.
Now, Eurobodalla Shire Council is asking those involved in primary production or rural industries to express their interest in joining a committee to distribute funds raised for drought relief.
"November’s Eurobodalla Raindances raised more than $44,000 for drought relief, 75 per cent of which has been forwarded to Eurobodalla's sister shire Cobar," a council spokeswoman said
She said the council’s Drought Relief Community Steering Committee will provide advice on effective governance and help select recipients of the remaining funds.
"There are three positions available and prospective members are required to demonstrate how they are commercially active in primary production or rural industry," she said.
"For information, including the committee’s terms of reference, visit the council's website or phone 4474 1005.
Expressions of interest close 4.30pm, Wednesday, March 13.
