The competition is open to young people aged five to 18 who live or go to school in Eurobodalla. Mayor Liz Innes said entries could be in any writing style, including short stories, poems or essays.
“Stories can be about anything - we just want young people to get writing and be imaginative,” she said.
“The only limitation for subject matter is that the word ‘seed’ must appear in the text at least once.
“The judges will be looking for stories that are creative and have a unique plot.”
Entries close Friday, May 3 at 5pm.
The winners will be announced by Ms Innes at the Council Chambers in Moruya on Thursday July 25.
Winners in each section receive a $50 book voucher and runners-up receive a $30 book voucher.
Finalists in each category also receive a copy of the Mayor’s Writing Competition Anthology 2019, which will include their work.
