The Narooma Devils Under 18s kicked off the 2019 season with a great win in the Group 16 Rugby League Nines Tournament in Eden last Saturday.

Meanwhile, senior player Ryan Norris was named man of the match in the Group 16 All Stars v Indigenous All Stars game.
In the Nines tournament, the Under 18s won three pool games, defeating Cooma 22-7, Bega 21-0, and Merimbula-Pambula 19-10 before taking on Bega in the final.
Bega scored first in the final, before the Devils ran in three tries to lead 12-5. Bega scored a converted try to cut the score to 12-11 with only a few minutes to go, but that proved to be the final score, with the Devils running out tournament winners for the second season in a row.
Javana Fereti, Clyde Parsons, Jack Godfrey, Marcus Lonsdale, and co showed their usual good form and new players Kaleb Moritz, Joel Sweeney, Tully Wilton, Logan Peck, and James Holley proved they will be great additions to the team.
Narooma was well represented in the Ladies Group 16 All Stars v Indigenous All Stars with the Group 16 All Stars winning 26-0.
In the men's Group 16 All Stars v Indigenous All Stars game, the Group 16 All Stars won a tight match 22-18. Narooma's Ryan Norris had a great game, winning the man of the match award and making lots of people say, "Wow! Who's that kid?". It looks like a big year for Ryan.
Next Saturday the senior men travel to Cooma for their Nines Tournament. It will be a great day of footy with the Devils, under coach Todd Ayers, out to put on a good show.
