Narooma Oyster Festival launches with a bang on Friday with fantastic fireworks and a free concert for families featuring Canberra party band Big Boss Groove and the inaugural Long Table Dinner for fine foodies.

"Friday night promises to be spectacular and a great warm up for the big day on Saturday," Festival spokesperson Cath Peachey said.
"Great live music from 4pm until 10, so bring friends and family, a picnic or buy food from the local food stalls and enjoy the free entertainment."
The action starts on the festival site at Quota Park from 4pm with Narooma Public and Narooma High Schools and the Rhythm Hunters.
Then Newcastle guitarist-songwriter Nick Saxon will be on stage from 6pm followed by local band Malumba until fireworks at 8pm.
"Victoria Fleming of Mosaic Fire Pyrotechnics at Mogo will put on a spectacular fireworks show, "Ms Peachey said. "Everyone raved about her fireworks at the festival two years ago. This year's promises to be even more spectacular."
After the fireworks, nine-piece powerhouse party band Big Boss Groove will set the mood for the festival weekend until 10pm.
"They'll have everyone on their feet with their two amazing vocalists, three-piece horn, and grooving rhythm sections," she said.
Friday's food stalls include the Matt Ratcliffe Oyster Bar, Japanese, Korean and German food as well as coffee, Narooma Rotary's barbecue and Bodalla Dairy Ice Cream.
The inaugural Long Table Dinner is a separately ticketed event. "With an earth meets sea theme, it will be a very special evening," Ms Peachey said.
"Guests can sample indigenous foods from a gourmet grazing table, enjoy freshly shucked Narooma oysters before being treated to a three-course long table dinner featuring the best of the South Coast in a waterfront marquee.
"Tickets are selling fast but a few are still available from the Festival website if you hurry."
Saturday's program (10-4pm) includes finding Australia's Biggest Oyster, the celebrity chefs' cooking demonstrations, the Ultimate Oyster Experience, the oyster shucking competition, free kids' rides, classic cars as well as food and markets stalls showcasing boutique wine and beer as well as local produce, especially oysters.
Live music acts, including the high energy band 19 Twenty, will continue on Saturday to 6pm, as will the bar and Oyster Bar.
