Garden talk
The Narooma Community Garden at the Primary School is a wonderful place to make new friends and have a chat. We meet at various times in the week, and always on a Sunday morning. New gardeners and novice gardeners are always welcome. We share the harvest and can choose to do simple jobs or more demanding ones.
Woodwork club
Narooma's woodwork club, The Narooma Woodies, has donated funds to help the local Men's Shed in their relocation from their current premises on Glasshouse Rocks Rd. The Woodies invited the Men's Shed to visit their workshop in Bodalla and presented the Men's Shed with a cheque for $500 to assist in their move. They also gave the visitors from the Men's Shed a tour of their three worksheds devoted to wood turning, toy making and general wood working. Woodies secretary, Jeffrey Davidson, said that the Woodies knew what it was like to be homeless having experienced numerous moves in the first 20 years of the club's existence before finding their current premises. Having a permanent home has meant the club can operate larger machinery which cannot be packed up in the boot of a car.
Men's Shed
The Narooma Men's Shed has signed a 15-year lease, with a five-year option, on the grounds behind the Scout Hall in Narooma. Representatives of the Men's Shed discussed plans with Woodies - to construct several work sheds on the site and to carry out renovations. Meanwhile, the Woodies are focused on the upcoming Tilba Woodwork Show to be held at the Central Tilba Community Halls in June.
