If you're a student looking for an extra-curricular activity to boost your resume and help polish your public speaking skills - apply for your chance to become student of the year.
Quota International of Narooma is asking all students in years 10 and 11 from schools as far south as Eden, as far north as Ulladulla and as far west as Braidwood to compete in the event.
Quota's quest for student of the year is a public speaking contest which includes:
- Preparation and presentation of a resume
- An interview in front of a panel of three judges
- A public speaking component
- A prepared speech on the student's choice of topic
- An impromptu speech
The quest is a positive experience to gain with public speaking and handling of interviews.
It will be held on Saturday, July 27 at Club Narooma, Princes Highway Narooma.
The winner will go on to the regional final which also held in Narooma on Saturday, August 17.
Nominations close on Wednesday, July 3.
The winner will receive a cash prize of $250 and the runner-up will receive a prize of $100.
Nomination forms are available from school administration office and/or English head teacher during week 5 of term.
