'See you!'
You ran a letter from what obviously seemed like a younger resident (More needs to be done for younger residents, Narooma News, June 12) who is very unhappy with the employment, social events and infrastructure in our shire.

Well, here's a few pointers for you, Mr Anonymous. When I moved here 30 odd years ago, I would have killed for the large number of unskilled jobs I hear advertised today; positions that employers have trouble filling, as it seems your generation are above it all, as they put their hands out.
What job is it you want? Prime Minister or the like?
When it comes to sport and entertainment, this shire has massive amounts of things going on if you look, with wonderful venues such as The Quarterdeck, Narooma Golf Club and the pubs always putting some form of entertainment on.
As far as putting targeted events on, why would anyone take the chance? As soon as they do, your generation screws it up with their over indulgence with alcohol and drugs, followed by violence. That's before it even gets dark, so no one is prepared anymore to take the chance.
Most of us who live here don't want massive infrastructure and development, as we love our little backwater and we moved here to get away from that and the madness it creates.
For mine, matey, if you are that disillusioned with it all, here's a solution: leave and go back to the city and get dissolved into the madness we don't want to be part of.
See you!

'Can't be serious'
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) can't be serious about closing the southern access to Centenary Drive from the Princes Highway for people trying to access the Bar Beach swimming area and the busiest boat ramp on the coast servicing Montague Island.
More of the "don't fix it, just close it or slow it down". Not good enough.
Blind Freddy can see if RMS sent a truck and a couple of guys with shovels to slightly widen the corner and perhaps put in a small slip lane, then the problem will be solved.
Narooma folks should not stand for this access to be taken away.

Open letter to council
I wrote to you previously regarding your decision to transform a beautiful nature reserve into an ugly wasteland.
I also warned you that a rain event would remove the unprotected top soil and wash it into Forsters Bay.
I note that a token effort was made to mitigate soil erosion after you received my letter.
Not only did it make your manufactured wasteland even uglier, it was totally ineffective, as the photos prove.
