Cattle Bay Marina Pty Ltd and Eden Resort Hotel Pty Ltd have resubmitted the development application (DA) for Cattle Bay Marina after the existing DA lapsed in June 2018.

The marina DA for a 154 berth marina and wave attenuator was submitted on June 13 and will be on public exhibition until August 12.
Estimated to cost $6.43 million, director Henri Ruiz de Roxas said that there were no changes to the plans.
The consent for the development was originally issued by the Southern Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP) on a deferred commencement basis.
The DA had a condition to remediate a section of the foreshore within a specified time frame which was not met and council advised the developer that the the consent expired on June 1, 2018. There were also discussions regarding legal access to the site.
"The easement has been approved and we have remediated areas around the foreshore," Mr de Roxas said.
"Council has been very co-operative and we hope to get approval quickly," he added.
"In our minds this shouldn't be an issue. It's all been done before. We're looking forward to hearing from council," Mr de Roxas said.
"Once we have approval we will start construction of the land and water-based developments," he added.
However while the DA is for a marina and wave attenuator the company is not intending to pay for the attenuator itself, believing that government should fund it.
"The wave attenuator is a matter of money and we know government bodies have done this in other areas along the coast," Mr de Roxas said.
He said that he believed cost of the wave attenuator to be in the region of $6-7m and in reference to the possibility of a wave attenuator for the state government Safe Harbour project added that there was room at Eden for two wave attenuators.
