Margaret Carpenter: How do these scammers get our numbers: Beside being irritating it is concerning to think our security is so easily breached.
Sen Burke: I've been getting a computer voice saying that they're from the NBN and because the NBN is now available, my internet will be cut off unless I press 1 to talk to a technician. Another SCAM.
Roslyn West: I get this one many times a day. I press 1 then leave phone off hook. Getting rid of landline.
Steve Elphick: To me, the FIRST sign of a scam is that "private number" on the caller ID.
Sandra Williams: People ... please stop getting scammed and they will stop driving us mad; three or four phone calls a day is really annoying. Let's use common sense.
Gay Parkins: Today I've had 2 texts - 1 supposedly from W'Worths and the other from JB Hi Fi telling me that I've won a prize! Ha Ha! There should be more media coverage about the scams.
Coko Slam: How could we be so dumb and vulnerable?

Dalmeny women bowlers meet for AGM
It was a beautiful Dalmeny day for a game of bowls on July 23. On a countback, playing for the lowest winning margin, winners were Judy Blackman, second Pat Barklem and skip Pat Cameron.
Kath Ryan ran over the spider and also took home a raffle prize. The other lucky raffle recipient was Barbara Pearce.
We are expecting a good turn-up at our AGM to be held this Wednesday, July 31st, followed by a club lunch, our shout.
The Consistency event will be played during the month of August. Social bowlers are welcome too for good bowling at the friendly club.

Celebrating 150 years of education
This year will mark 150 years that Batemans Bay Public School has been delivering quality public education to the town.
Commencing on Monday, August 19, Batemans Bay Public School past and current staff, students, families and community members will be engaging in a week long celebration.
An assembly will commence the celebrations. A "Weaving Through Time" exhibition at the school will be organised by the staff and students for Wednesday, August 21.
To close our celebrations, a community ball has been planned for Saturday, August 23 at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club.
Tickets for this event are currently on sale through the club's website, or alternatively call into the club to secure your seats.
We would love to see as many community members there as possible to help us celebrate our 150th birthday.
All past students, teachers, volunteers and families, including those now living in the Narooma area, are welcome to come and share a night of food and dancing.
Former principal Tom Purcell will MC the evening and Spindrift Saga will be providing us with the music.
Any questions regarding the ball can be directed to Bev Nicholas or Gwen Haynes at Batemans Bay Public School.
