Links to Learning program facilitator Julia Wilson hopes the community will attend the photo exhibition launch at the Narooma Library at 11am on Tuesday, August 6.

Ms Wilson is proud of the student's work and their chosen theme, "self-empowerment".

"Their powerful messages aim to inspire positivity; to build themselves up as well as others," she said.

Ms Wilson said the Links to Learning program helps student's resilience, self-belief and confidence to make the most of their education opportunity.

Lydia O'Neill and Bridie Cotton are two students among the group who are excited to share their photography with the community.

Lydia loves nature and chose to demonstrate peace and love.

"If you don't love yourself, you will find it hard to love others," she said.

She has been inspired by her great, great grandmother Florence Munroe.

"Granny Munroe was the Tamworth Citizen of the Year and she helped a lot of people," Lydia said.

"She wanted to make sure everyone was treated equally and always treated people how she wanted to be treated."

Lydia said to have confidence in yourself is important to achieve happiness.

Through her sports action photograph, Bridie wants to share a message that "girls can do anything".

"For a while I was the only girl in the AFL 14s comp, it was bitter sweet," she said.

"I would get frustrated being treated differently on the field.

"I feel like now, a whole lot more girls are getting into the sport and feeling empowered - they can do anything."

As part of the Links to Learning Program, students explore issues surrounding identity, appearance and the impact social pressures can place on young women's self-confidence.

The images are presented in the hope viewers choose to embrace their unique personal identity and develop a greater sense of self-worth.

The exhibition will run for two weeks.
