"It's absolutely huge," Narooma Preschool director Kathie Phipps said.
"I was overwhelmed when we received our assessment last week and especially that we go above and beyond what's required in all seven quality areas.
"We all have such pride and passion in providing quality preschool education to the children in our care so it's a real validation of everyone's efforts."
The NQS is a national benchmark for the quality of children's education and care services across Australia. It considers educational programmes, health and safety, physical environment, staffing, relationships with children, collaboration with families and community, and governance.

"The preschool is a massive community-owned asset," committee president Michael Gardner said.
"It was established by dedicated people in the community as a not-for-profit preschool in 1975 and continues to be managed by a voluntary committee of parents."
"One of the great things is the continuity of community involvement over the years in ensuring all children in our area from three to five years old receive the highest quality education and care."
Fellow committee member Mel Dollimore echoed Mr Garner's sentiments.
"This recognition is so well deserved," she said.
"Having experience with centres in Sydney, I know Narooma Preschool is such an amazing place."
Mr Gardner said now the preschool has been recognised as exceeding the National Quality Standard, they intend going one step further to apply for "Excellence" status - the ultimate classification.
