On Sunday we had 20 bowlers playing two games of triples and two games of pairs. Winners were decided by Lowest Winning Score with the winners being Mavis Hardy, Graeme Smith and Merrie Downie (skip) who led 9 to 6 after 11 ends and knew where the finnish line was for a 14 to 13 win against Shirley Rolls, Sue Wales and John Lonergan (skip). Second place went to Rachael Smith, Bruce Rolls and Warren Bender (skip) who were down 7 to 11 after 11 ends before they finished hard for a 16 to 15 win against Lois Mac Gregor, Sue Bender and John Downie (skip).
Club Minor Pairs: The final was played on Monday between Warren Bender and John Downie (skip) and Les Waldock and Warwick George (skip). What a game it turned out to be with both teams trading ends early on and each skip cutting back shots so that by 11 ends the score was only 8 shots to 6 in Warwick's team favour. John's team hit the lead for the first time after 12 ends and they led by 1 shot after 15 ends. The following ends were won by John's team but only after a great fight where shot was held by each team several times an end. The final score of 20 to 11 to John and Warren doesn't reflect the closeness of the match but after about 6 years of being runner-up they were very relieved to take the match from the courageous Les and Warwick. Congratulations to John and Warren, winners of the 2019 Minor Pairs.
Narooma Ladies
Ladies Social Bowls - Last Tuesday, August 6, was another lovely day for ladies' social bowls when three games of 3 bowl triples were played. Winners were to be the team winning the most ends. Maureen Findlay/Sue Wales, Jenny Coulson and Dawn Kenny (skip) played against Jan Rapkins, Pat Wood and Annette Linney (skip). A tally of all games played revealed that Annette's team was the day's prize winner. Well done ladies.
Clare Cork and Dawn Kenny won raffles, 50Club lucky winner was Sue Bender. Birthday wishes to Bev Bowater for Monday 12th. Following the AGM on Tuesday a new committee has been elected, headed up by President Vicky Herman. Thank you to outgoing President Lorraine Mitchell and her hardworking team.

August 6: It was gorgeous weather for the first round of the Consistency event which was played in a competitive spirit by most of our members, enabled by the blokes agreeing to be our markers. Thanks guys! The handicappers did an excellent job as there were many sets of close results. Congratulations to all players and good luck to the winners for the second round next week.
Winner of the day was Kath Ryan with Gail Farrell and Eileen Lavis as runners-up. Lee Lewis scored a resting toucher. Glen Pisanos and Olwyn Mayer took home the raffle prizes. Many happy returns went to Robin Gourley.
Dalmeny women attended the WBNSW Forum at Narooma this week to be enlightened on policies, rules and regulations which govern our game, so it will be good bowling at the friendly club.

Due to the Goose's co-pilot having choke or throat-L trouble which required a capital city visit, Monday's book results had the highest winning margin deciding the winners on 23 in Jim, Pat, Ron or Harold, Clive KV and Chris Silver-Jones Footprint from the runners-up on 4 in Ex.PM Neil, Lloyd Raise-Us and Roger C-Toe. Snoopy Leigh scored the first resting toucher but the $121 jackpot did not go off. The wrong bias sinners and raffle prizes remain nameless.
Friday's clear skies were enjoyed but not the wind by the 30 men's winter carnival triple players which saw the winners, presented with prizes by board member John Oarley, with 3 wins +23 shots in Shane Mor-100 and the Fencing boys Peter and Keith (skip) from the runners-up with 3 wins +12 shots in the Bodalla combo of Don McCharge, Mick, Ken or Eddy and long tall Paul Truck-Der (skip) with 3rd place taken out by Tom's son Danny, Pete Can-Son and Sailor Brian (skip) on 2 wins +10 shots. The best last round winners were Towelling Lewis, Des Metal and Graham or Brett.
Although the weather remained fine, Saturday's men's pairs, 28 in number, were still buffeted by cool and the placegetters, presented with their prizes by board member the Macedonian Illya, who had the fencing mob continuing in their winning vein with the winners in Keith Picket and Paul Vander (3 wins +35 shots) from runners-up Peter Picket and Shane More-100 (3 wins +27 shots) and 3rd place getters in the Rum-back Ane combo of Gary and Stephen (3 wins +21 shots). The best last round winners on +12 were Les Wal-Loading and Peter Mur-100.
Sunday had the sun shining with a lessening of the nor-westerly winds but it still remained very cool for the 36 mixed pair players with placegetters, presented with their prizes by board member Illya, in a nice change of faces in Mayoress Olwyn and Garry L-Rentacar (3 wins +23 shots) from the runners-up on countback in the Shark pair of Christine and Finn (3 wins +12 shots) and 3rd placegetters in the Bombaderry pair of Michael and Sonia Wilson (3 wins +12shots). The C-toe couple of Gabby and Roger had the best last round of +19.
Thanks was given to all players, the NSSC for their sponsorship, Chef Keith for his bowls organisation, the Club Dalmeny ladies for their after every game nibbles, the KV couple for their scoreboard presentation on the first 2 days and Top Card Ace for his work on the 3rd day. Disregarding the wind it was a carnival enjoyed by all who attended.
Members are again reminded that their attendance is required and names are still needed to be nominated for all committee positions prior to the AGM on the 19th August otherwise NO COMMITTEE, NO MEN'S BOWLS.
