Thankfully, Friday night's strong winds had abated by Saturday morning so it was clear skies and game on!
Narooma's Under 10's, coached by Steve Lavis, kicked off the winning streak for the day in the competition ladder teams with a convincing 48-28 win over the Tigers.
Following suit the Junior Devils Under 14's blitzed the opposition, keeping the Tigers scoreless to win 54 points to nil. Coach Brendan Constable is hungry for back-to-back premierships and these boys are unstoppable!
Narooma's under 16's have had a long tough season with low numbers and injuries but they keep showing up every week, working hard at training and it is finally paying off.
Saturday's game was a big one for Eden, needing the win to stay in the race for the finals but our Junior Devils wanted the win just as much after finally tasting victory two weeks ago.
Back and forth, the scores stayed tight right from the start. An impressive intercept from Zac Roberts edged the Junior Devils ahead to let Eden know we were not giving in.
The scores evened up again to 26-all with minutes to go when Zac kicked a field goal. Final score Narooma 27 Eden 26 and out of the finals.
What a send-off for the boys playing their final game of junior rugby league. Well done to the boys and to the coaching staff, Jeff Rapley, Jeremy Mathews-Bennett and Michael Longbottom.

A big thanks to Strop Cannon and Craig Swadling for their assistance with strapping throughout the season too. They certainly had their work cut out for them with this team!
In League Tag news the Under 13's League Tag girls are in a class of their own, coming out with an unbelievable 82-0 win over the Eden Tigers.
The halftime score was 50-0 (pictured) and the She-Devils just kept going! Congratulations to coach Kate Rotumah for showing Group 16 how League Tag is done!
