A teenager believed to be missing in dense bushland in the Sunshine Coast hinterland for almost two weeks could still be alive.
Michael Ryan, 14, who was last seen in Landsborough on August 7, has good bush sense and they hope he might still be found safe.
Detective acting Senior Sergeant Grant Gleeson said the search continues and they had not given up hope of finding him alive.
"Yes, we are always positive," he told reporters on Monday.
"I can assure you that the police are doing everything they can."
The search on Monday was focusing near where the teenager's bike was found on Saturday in bushland near the small town of Mooloolah Valley.
The bike was found close to the spot where his mobile phone last recorded a signal around the time he vanished.
The search is expected to continue in daylight hours on Tuesday.
