Even though the course was a little short, it still played to a consistent DSR of 72 for the field of 121 players. A Grade was taken out by Club Captain Andrew Thompson, albeit on countback,with 40 points off his handicap of 9 ahead of Jackson Taylor. Robert Sayers was one point further back in third place. In B Grade Richard Easton came out on top with 41 points off his handicap of 18, followed by David Alexander and Tony Cobcroft on 39 and 38 points respectively. In C Grade John Matthews (yet again!) registered the highest score of the day with 42 points off his handicap of 25, well ahead of Peter Kape on 39 points and Terry Pickles on 38 points.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Scott Ker on 3, Terry O'Callaghan on 9, Robert Ackling on 14 and Peter Ellliott on 17 while David Bennett had meagre pickings from the eagle's nest after holing his second shot on the 15th. The ball competition went down to all on 34 points.
SATURDAY 17th AUGUST
A field of 122 players turned out for the par round of the President's Trophy where the DSR was again a consistent 72. Eddie Harvey triumphed in A Grade with plus 3 off his handicap of 14 while Rick Porter headed Robert Ackling on plus 2 on countback to fill second place. In B Grade Ray Hille had his first victory since transferring to the club with the best score of the day, plus 4 off his handicap of 19. Bill Baker took the second position with plus 2 on countback from Bernie Krueger. C Grade was taken out by Christine Hendra with plus 3 off her handicap of 34 after edging out Warwick Dixon on countback with Peter Jones in third place on plus 2.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Peter Elliott on 3, Michael Ryan from Moruya on 9, Clive Williamson on 14 and Rob Green from Moruya on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on minus 2.
Narooma Ladies
On Monday 12 August 24 Ladies played a 4BBB Stableford Competition. The Winners were Dorelle Monteith and Dierdre Landells with a score of 47 points. Runners up were Rhonda Walters and Margaret Bennett with a score of 42 points ocb.
On Wednesday 14 August a field of 36 Ladies played a Canadian Foursomes Competition in our annual Captains Day.
The winners were Sylvia Donohoe and Di Wilkes with nett 77 1/8. Runners-Up were Cheryl O'Kane and Meridie Banson with nett 78 3/8. Balls went to nett 82.
The Ladies celebrated Captains Day after golf by enjoying some delicious Canadian fare provided by our Ladies Captain Chris Fader.
Bermagui Men
On Saturday 17th August the Bermagui Men played a Stableford Competition with A Grade being won by Paul Revill handicap 9 with 37 points 2nd Wally Wilder handicap 2 with 35 points. B Grade Winner Rob Cattanach handicap 17 with 33 points on a countback from Runner Up Ray Stephens handicap 17. C Grade Winner Peter Schmidt handicap 26 with 38 points Runner Up Santiago Valle handicap 26 with 37 points. NTPs 6th and 11th Sean Lingard 8th Rick Sheather 15th
Small field but a good day had by all. A special presentation was made to Peter Buttrey who is moving to a warmer climate. Peter will be missed by those who have played and had a few after game drinks with him.
Bermagui Ladies
The Bermagui Ladies competed in the Golf NSW 2 Ball Ambrose Competition where the best score continues on to a district final at Mollymook Golf Course on 27th October and the winner there goes on to compete in a State Final at Bonville Golf Resort later in the year.
Winners were Maggie Hayes and Lynn Ponsford hcp 5 nett 68 Runners up Pat Jones and Michelle Medelis hcp 8.75 nett 71.25 NTP's 8th Lynette Manton 11th and Golden Shot winner Lynn Ponsford who was 10cm away from her first Hole in One! Next week we look forward to our annual visit from Tathra Golf Club. Visitors are invited to join us on Wednesdays and Saturdays for an 18 hole competition and Mondays a 9 hole comp on our short course. Ring our pro Chris Hearne for details 6493 4657.

Tuross Head Veterans
Another beautiful day for the 57 starters who played in a single stableford event on Wednesday.
The winner was - Robert McKirdy with 23 points. Second place went to - Les Thompson with 21 points. Third place getter was - Herb Muriwai with 20 points & fourth place was won by - Terry Lunn also with 20 points.
The Bradmans was awarded to - Barry Hoban & the Accuracy Drive went to - Kath Crossling. Nearest the pins - 4th - Herb Muriwai. 6th - Jennifer Gray. 7th - Teri Swanbury & Bruce Ware. Ball or chocolate went to - Kath Crossling - 19 points. Lyn Benger, Derek Hoare, Tim Starr - 18 points. Greg Smith, Ray Downey, Annette Manton - 17 points. Steve Swanbury, Neil Watson, Shirley Quinlan, Ted Quinlan, Bruce Ware, Jennifer Gray & Patrick McNeil - 16 points.
Next week will be a stroke & putt event and the first round of the Vets' Championships.
