Narooma Chamber of Commerce member and tourism operator, Sally Bouckley, believes Narooma should be the next destination people discover on the South Coast.
Ms Bouckley, is one of many in the sector excited by the shire's new tourism campaign, "Eurobodalla - All Kinds of Natural", which hopes to attract holidaymakers in the shoulder season.
"I think it's fantastic Eurobodalla Council and Destination NSW are behind tourism for the Eurobodalla," Ms Bouckley said.
"The more we can highlight the beauty of the area, the better."
We don't want the masses, we want to keep it as beautiful as it is.
- Sally Bouckley
Eurobodalla Shire Council and the NSW Government have jointly funded the campaign through the Regional Tourism Fund. It targets ACT, Victoria and Sydney residents and regional NSW.
Hailing from Scotland, Ms Bouckley had holidayed in Narooma since she was a little girl. Her 30-year tourism career led her to start her own business, Southbound Escapes, which was named Start-up Superstar at the shire's recent business awards. She targets high-end customers looking for luxury tours and experiences from Sydney to Eden.
She also won a gold ecotourism award and was a finalist in the adventure tourism category at the Southern NSW Regional Tourism Awards last month. She said businesses entering and winning awards drew attention to the area.

"The Eurobodalla business and the regional tourism awards have been by far the best thing I have done marketing-wise," she said.
Ms Bouckley said applying and being assessed in the eco category made her more accountable and reinforced best practice: "It has been an amazing exercise and I would encourage anyone to do it."
Ms Bouckley hoped to attract people in the off-peak season through niche activities such as e-bike (pedal-assist bicycle) tours.
"The e-bikes enable tourists of all fitness levels to travel easily around the Wogonga Scenic Drive route, keeping the emissions low," Ms Bouckley said.
"Riders can self-guide themselves around each landmark - stopping to read about it through our GPS triggered app."
She said Narooma's key attractions were nature-based and adventure-based, such as golf and bike tours.
She believes it is "the next place people will discover", but does not want it to be loved to death.
"I see it as one of the most beautiful places and it has great potential," she said.
She values its "natural beauty; that it isn't crowded and it's authentic - it's the real Australia.
"We don't want the masses, we want to keep it as beautiful as it is."
"The tourism strategy has to be very careful not to encourage too many people, like Hyams Beach (near Jervis Bay)."
Ms Bouckley said the cost and distance for tourists to travel to the Eurobodalla would prevent a boom, such as experienced in Hyams Beach or Byron Bay.
Destination NSW had urged businesses to collaborate to get the benefits of the $640,000 tourism campaign, "Eurobodalla - All Kinds of Natural".
Ms Bouckley, agrees and says operators need to work together to set a standard: "The more you act as a group and as a destination - that's when people start to take notice of the area."
She encouraged businesses to take part in Tourism Expos (see below).
