An 76-year-old male skipper was rescued from the water after his sailing boat capsized in Chain Bay, near Batemans Bay, on Friday afternoon, September 13.

A Batemans Bay Marine Rescue spokesperson said the Surf Beach man was in the water when he was retrieved by a private yacht who stayed on scene until Batemans Bay Marine Rescue crews arrived.
The crews took him back to shore where paramedics were waiting, before they took him to hospital.
NSW Ambulance said paramedics were called just before 2.30pm.
The spokesperson said paramedics treated the man for hypothermia and he was taken to Batemans Bay Hospital.
A Marine Rescue spokesperson said the boat was 4.5 metres tall.
Southern NSW Local Health District said man was discharged home in the early evening, after treatment for mild hypothermia.
