The student-led action has won the support of some parents, doctors and environment groups.
More than 200 people attended the event at the front of the Eurobodalla Shire Council chambers from 12.30pm.
Several students spoke, including from Moruya and Batemans Bay High Schools, Batemans Bay Public School, Sam Fletcher from Moruya High School sang and played guitar.
Kaeleigh Peard, the Sunshine Bay Public School student, who addressed Eurobodalla Shire Council in August, also spoke.
The Reverend Linda Chapman MCd the event.
Eurobodalla Shire Councillors Pat McGinlay and Anthony Mayne spoke, along with Allan Rees, from Eurobodalla 350.
