Dalmeny/Narooma Bushwalkers conducted two walks last week. The first, on Thursday, September 26, was to Nadjanuga (Little Drom). Sixteen walkers met at Hoyer's property at Tilba and made their way to the summit. The path in the bush was more distinct this year as quite a bit of lantana removal has occurred during the winter but it is still steep and involves a bit of rock scrambling, especially towards the end.

We had 360 degree views over Tilba, south to Bermagui and north to Narooma whilst having morning tea. The group backtracked down past Bobundra Swamp (which is suffering due to the prolonged dry spell) and out to Little Lake next to the ocean where we had lunch. The walkers then made their way back via the farm paddocks to the cars. Jan Thomas, who conducted the walk was thanked by Jo Mariet for putting on this 8km iconic South Coast walk.
The second walk to Spring Mountain at Belowra on Saturday was a new walk for the group. Thirteen walkers travelled to the Valley to do this walk on Thomson's property. The first section of the walk was up Little Spring Mountain where a morning tea break was taken and then the walkers scrambled up rocks and through the bush to the summit of Spring Mountain. After exploring the area a large blaze on a tree marked the descent down a slippery bushy slope to a large rocky outcrop for lunch.
Many fig trees were growing in the cracks of these granite boulders looking for moisture and support. After a short distance we came onto a firetrail and cleared ground and back to the car. The drivers picked up the other vehicles so all the walkers could make their way home. Steve Deck thanked Jen Mathieson for putting on this wonderful 6.4km walk through her family's property and recalling tales and adventures her family have had in the Belowra Valley.
