Last Tuesday was a beautiful, sunny day for the small group of ladies playing social bowls. Heather McGourty got off to a good start, winning the meat tray raffle. Out on the green Julie Smith got plenty of practice playing both lead positions in her triples match. Teaming up with in form Jan Rapkins and Gail Palmer (skip), they won by a margin of four shots against Julie Smith, Cindy Newell and Barb McNamara (skip). Consequently, they were winners for the day, with the lowest winning margin. Birthday wishes to Ronda Walters for last Friday. Suddenly, the long weekend has been and gone and daylight saving has commenced. Members please note that Tuesday bowls will be starting early commencing October 15. Cards called at 8.50am, play at 9am. Consistency starts tomorrow, past presidents' fours next Thursday, please check the noticeboard for details.
