Riverside Drive upgrades
It is hard to believe the Eurobodalla Shire Council's lack of consultation and insight when the worst, most dangerous part of Riverside Drive is the corner at the marina and Bettini Lane, and the serious drainage and pollution issues of storm water allowed to enter the pristine waterways of Forsters Bay without one sediment /rubbish trap in place.

They even refuse to seal the pot holes developing in the land they own, which is part of the car park at that corner.

Narooma
Having been in Narooma for seven years, I never realised that Riverside Drive was in such a bad condition.
This would explain why I continually have to go to the extreme left, where all the corrugations are, or collide with the gutter to evade four-wheel-drive vehicles and caravans as they come hurtling down the centre of the road. I now know why vehicles go to the wrong side of the road when a lake forms at the top end of the drive.
While they are at it, how about a better location for that stupid safety crossing?
It impedes and is dangerous for vehicles making a right-hand turn after coming off the bridge.

$25.6 million announced for Tuross catchment dam
The NSW Government's $25.6 million commitment to a new dam south-west of Bodalla in the Tuross River catchment drew a strong response on social media:
"I support it; Eurobodalla supports many businesses and people. Lots of water just drains into the sea. Store it."
John Scheltus
"Too little, too late as far as I'm concerned; growing population, ever-increasing tourism. It's good they're doing it, but we also need rain to fill the dam we have, plus this one and when it's full, will they ship excess to the one's in need? I think not."
Andrew McCarthy
"Having enough water is one thing, but it is never enough with our ongoing attitude of two key words - economic growth. That is the basis of all our climatic problems. As far as the water running out to sea ... that is the way system is meant to be."
Brian Ringrose
"The proposed location looks okay. May not impact privately owned properties, which is good."
Brian Hastie
Will never be any cheaper. It isn't exactly a luxury, but a daily necessity. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet for now and the future."
Margaret Carpenter
"Believe it when I see it ... talking about it in 82 when I came here. More like a lot of political waffle."
David Creed
"Australia needs as much water security it can get!"
Tracie Madden
"Water security a must. Can see Mad Max scenario with it otherwise."
Carol Cockshaw
"People will kill each other for food and water."
Rochelle Smith
"Do it now."
