The exhibition is the society's major project for the year.
"We anticipate this exhibition will create a great deal of interest particularly among older locals," Narooma Historical Society president Laurelle Pacey.said.
"We recently received photographs from descendants of old Narooma saw-miller George Fuller which includes quite a number of photos our members had not seen before.
"They include several of some of the old ships that regularly came to Narooma including a wonderful series detailing the launch of McMillan's Clyde (later renamed the Wee Clyde) in Forsters Bay, the launch of the Kianga in Mill Bay, as well as several street scenes.
"We decided to combine some from the Fuller collection with others from our archives to add even more interest.
"Some are of groups of people are identified while we're asking for everyone's help in trying to identify others."
The exhibition ends Thursday, November 21 at 4pm.
