NAROOMA AND DISTRICT LIONS CLUB
The club has brought its successful year to a close holding their annual Youth of the Year event. Two Year 11 students, Geena Thomas and Jade Vlatkovic, from Narooma High School presented their speeches on "Having a Voice" and "Freedom of Speech". The young adults were outstanding, making the judges' decision difficult. Jade Vlatkovic was named the outright winner.

A Vinnies Christmas thank you
The Narooma Vinnies Centre says a big thank you and season's greetings to the staff and management of the Narooma News for the assistance they have given over the year. It is most appreciated by management and volunteers alike. Vinnies would also like to wish their loyal customers a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. The Centre will be closed both Christmas and Boxing Days, as well as January 1, New Year's Day. Other than that, Vinnies Narooma is open for business with lots of summer clothing, manchester (towels, linen), books to relax with and even bags to pack those extra Christmas items in to take home.
Little Rocky's dream
"I'm too little to speak for myself really, so I asked my foster mum if she could tell you about my little kitten dream of finding a person who would give me a safe home, with a small kitten cushion and a small kitten bowl and some small kitten munchies. She says I purr beautifully and snuggle like a champion and I don't snore much."
Rocky is a 10-week-old kitten, who would love a safe, happy home. If interested, please call the Far South Coast Animal Welfare League on 0410 016 612. WIRES need pouches for orphaned joeys
When young wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, gliders or possums come into care they need to be kept warm and quiet. WIRES carers are always in need of suitable pouches. The pouches are used for many different animals, some for two or three young ringtails at once, others for brushtail joeys which are larger and even for very young bandicoots. This means various size pouches are useful. Many people who would like to help wildlife but are unable to commit to animal rescue or care, can help by making pouches and/or linings.
