A lineup of local lads will be behind the decks, djing set after set, the best of house/disco. It's all about creating the right vibe to reel in the summer. Tennis Club DJs will have all the tunes to keep you groovin' in your favourite party/Hawaiian shirt. Keep the cold drinks coming and the sun shining for an afternoon at the Waterfront Hotel Moruya. This free event kicks off at 4pm.
Sand sculptures
Broulee, December 31
Watch North Broulee Beach get transformed into a sand model haven this New Years Eve! Every year there are more and more sculptures - just stroll along the beautiful beach and enjoy. Or, if you are an avid sand modeller yourself, take part in the competition for your chance to win heaps of prizes. Each team can have a maximum of five people. All funds go towards projects run by the Broulee Mossy Point Association.
Summer exhibition
Milton, December 21-24
Celebrate a summer with a visit to the Millhouse Art Gallery in Milton. Take some time out to relax and wander through their gallery, which has been established by South Coast artists. Have a chat to the artists on duty. From December, the Millhouse Artists will showcase over one hundred original paintings. The Summer Exhibition will be a mixture of the colourful, the contemporary and the traditional. Original artworks to suite all tastes will be on display. From 10am-4pm, Millhouse Art Gallery 69A Princes Highway.
DJs on NYE
Tanja, December 31
After a year's break, the Bega Sound Collective is returning to the Tanja Hall on New Year's Eve to bring you a long evening of beats so you can dance your way into the next decade. It is titled Utopia Awaits, as the collective will put on a vision for a positive future. Doors open at 6pm and the event runs late. Tickets are $10/$5. There will be pizzas by Tanja School P&C as a school fundraiser. The Bega Sound Collective features local DJs from around the NSW South Coast.
Tathra Cup
Kalaru, January 2
Officials are expecting bumper crowds at the Sapphire Coast Turf Club for the Hawaiian themed Tathra Cup. Anyone dressed with a Hawaiian twist will get a free Corona or Piccolo (soft drink for under 18s). Gates Open at 12.30pm. There will be fashions on the field and fun and games for kids. The Turf Club is located on Sapphire Coast Drive near Kalaru.
Blues Brothers
Merimbula, December 31
Thirty years on, the Blues Brothers live on in the official Blues Brothers Revue, and Australian fans of the duo are set to get a nostalgic musical fix when the pair arrives from America to begin a tour Down Under. Starring Wayne Catania as Jake and Kieron Lafferty as Elwood. You can expect comedy, music and mayhem from the original movie, as well as songs from the five popular albums put out by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The show starts at 9.15pm at Club Sapphire. This is an 18+ event, tickets are $35.
