Marine Rescue NSW Tuross Unit has invited the community to participate in "a long-standing Tuross Head tradition": the Australia Day Breakfast BBQ.

Organisers said despite Thursday's fires in the Eurobodalla Shire, the event would still take place, and Tuross was untouched.

"Located at the iconic One Tree Point with wonderful views and local entertainment, come and get your morning starter from the local Marine Rescue team," a spokesperson said.

"Marine Rescue Tuross maintains four vessels and two wharves, one at Tuross base and the other at South Head in Moruya.

"Your support is needed and greatly appreciated to maintain this vital rescue service."

The small unit is also looking for new members.

"Everyone is welcome, but we are particularly keen to increase our female membership," the spokesperson said.
