SolarBuddy lights were being delivered to community organisations, emergency services as well as recovery and evacuation centres from Nowra to Bega.
The lights are waterproof, float and a have usage time of eight hours.
Narooma's Shaun Martyn of FairBreak said the lights are not available for the public to purchase. They are sponsored by corporates, part of their social responsibility programs.
"Corporates buy in, and the lights cost around $20 each," he said.
Mr Martyn helped source more than 4000 lights for the region. He also helps distribute them globally.
"Well over 4000 lights will be distributed from Nowra to Bega," he said.
"There are 1000 lights being circulated in the Narooma area already and 100 will be dropped off to Mogo on Sunday."
A further 500 had been distributed in the Eurobodalla Shire earlier this month. Mr Martyn said 1500 will be delivered to both Nowra and Bega next week.
He said they not only provide light, but a sense of security as well.
"With everything going on, it can ease the burden," he said.
Origin Energy is one of the major partners. The company supplies gas and LPG to the region - and now solar lights as well.
Head of wholesale development and Moruya resident, Mary Dullard, felt the lights will go to good use considering the power outages over the past month.
"For Origin Energy to respond not just by giving money, but something practical like this is meaningful," she said.
