Raising the level of Beach Road and its pathways, to accommodate a rising sea level, is part of a "major safety upgrade" between Miller Street and Golf Links Drive, the Eurobodalla Shire Council says.

Work underway also included renewing stormwater infrastructure and replacing the water mains.
Existing median islands would be extended to allow improved traffic flow and reduce the risk of rear-end collisions associated with driveway entry/exit, a council spokesperson said.
Driveway access along this section of Beach Road would be restricted to left-in/left-out only.
To minimise disruption, work would be undertaken on a single lane. Traffic control would be in place.
The council said residents and property owners had been notified by letter.
"The NSW Government has contributed $1.8million toward the upgrade through the Safer Roads - Saving Lives on Country Roads program," the spokesperson said.
