Thursday's walk was cancelled due to the wonderful follow-up rain event that soaked the region.
From drought, dust, fire smoke and ash of the summer to a beautiful early autumn break regenerating the land, what a contrast.
We have a full Autumn program of walking in our region, in both burnt and unburnt areas as many members wanted to see some of those damaged areas and their renewal.
Saturday's walk, led by Maggie Finch, concentrated on the area behind Dalmeny between the ocean and the highway.
Many tracks traverse this area of bush which was recently freshened by the rainfall.
One of the highlights are the many large misshapened gum trees that inhabit the area.
Eight kilometres were covered on a beautiful autumn morning with the walkers really enjoying getting out again in the bush we love.
Maggie was thanked for leading the group and again showing us all, you don't have to go far from home to have a really enjoyable walk.
ABOUT US
The Dalmeny Narooma Bushwalkers Club was established in May 1986 to encourage bushwalking as a group activity.
The principal concepts were: to keep it simple, affordable to all with as few administrative procedures as possible, to offer walks of varied grades to suit the majority and focus on safety, exercise and friendship, and to allow no outside fund-raising activities.
The club continues as it began with happy groups walking twice a week.
Since 1997, the club has walked with the support of the NSW Sport & Recreation Walking for Pleasure program.
Walkers should ensure that they read the front page of the walks programme and any walker wishing to lead a walk must read the Walking for Pleasure Walk Leaders training manual.
We have an Annual General Meeting to discuss any general business and to elected Office Bearers for the next year.
So, come along, join in and after the meeting, enjoy tea with fellow walkers.
