NSW Police Force youth case manager, Senior Constable Sarah Bancroft, said the bags are crammed full of things to keep young people occupied.
That included stationery packs, colouring books and bubble wands for primary aged children, sketch pads and headphones for secondary school students, magazines, lunch bags, snacks and socks.
Agencies supporting the project included the South Coast Police District, Rotary Club of Pambula, Bega Lions Club, Katungul, Campbell Page, Australian Red Cross, Bega Valley Shire Council, Mission Australia, Headspace Bega, Coles, Woolworths Bega and BIG W.
