"Freight has continued to move across the border this morning and we're not anticipating any disruption to deliveries at this stage," a spokesperson said.

"We will continue to monitor the situation closely."

The trucking company which supplies much of the food and produce into Canberra's Woolworths supermarkets is in Wodonga, on the Victorian side of the border.

Although the company has an exemption for its trucks to cross borders, as an essential service, staff who live across the border may face difficulties getting to work.

Supermarkets continue to have more than sufficient stock.
