The artist will not open her studio door as part of this year's River of Art Festival, but instead will be part of a virtual program (see video below).
Adapting to COVID-19, the festival committee commissioned Eva Davis-Boermans to video several artists in their studios.
River of Art will be held from September 18-27 in the Eurobodalla Shire.
Raewyn Lawrence said she has been working on putting to canvas personal work that explores her emotions and events in her life and family history.
Indigenous and colonial history, and the ephemeral light and colours of the natural environment also inspired her.
"Living on the New South Wales south coast, I find it impossible not to feel in awe of the beauty of the natural world," Ms Lawrence said.
"The light and colours that are constantly changing are an endless source of inspiration."
She said the process of starting a work of art might begin with drawing. Sometimes she is prepared for the final product, "but you don't fully understand what your finished painting's going to be until it is (finished)".
"You either run out of time, or you do decide I've had enough now and that's where I want to be and i'll leave it," she said.
She said the light and shadow in her art are often painted from memory.
"You've seen it enough. You've walked along that track, that beach or you've seen that coastline there so many times you know what you're doing. It's so nice when it actually pulls off," she said.
"I love that I've always got something I want to do. I wouldn't say I'm ever bored. I can't really find enough time to do it.
"It's something you're constantly learning and constantly improving. It's a two steps forward - one step back process. I imagine I'll be doing that until I can't."
Ms Lawrence is one of several acclaimed artists in the Eurobodalla Shire who will be featured in virtual studio tours on the River of Art's new website to be launched in the lead-up to this year's festival.
