September 9: On Wednesday we had eight rinks of triples with winners decided by Highest Winning Score. First place went to Neville Butt, Les Waldock and Col Armstrong (skip), who were all square on 14 all after 13 ends before they picked up the pace to take the match 28 to 17 over Don Caldwell, Greg Riley and John McNamara (skip). Second place went to Tony Fryer, Tony Palmer and Jeremy Seaton (skip) who jumped out of the blocks to lead 19 to 4 after 12 ends before Allan Chisholm, Rod Holman and Peter Robson (skip) got their act together to come back strongly, but too late, with Jeremy's team winning the match 27 to 17. John Downie showed what good bowls he has been playing by having the first resting toucher at 1.15pm. Well done John.
September 12: On Saturday winners were decided by Highest Winning Margin and first place went to Darrell Goodridge and John McKay (skip) who were at their best all day for an all the way win against John Redman and John Downie (skip). Second place went to Bobby Robbins and Wazza George (skip) who skipped away to a 16 to 6 lead after 13 ends and continued their top bowls for a 29 to 14 win over Craig Campbell and Carl Lee (skip).

September 8: Four games of triples were enjoyed on Tuesday afternoon, which was sunny but accompanied by a persistent breeze. Highest Winning Margin was the method used to determine the winners. Second place was awarded to Heather McGourty, Clare Cork and Sandra Breust (skip), who accumulated a four-shot margin against Di Fry, Merrie Downie and Dawn Kenny (skip) in a great contest with scores level three times early on before Sandra's team finished strongly to win the game. The "in-form" team of Betty Greenshields, Jan Rapkins and Vicki Herman (skip) had a convincing 8-shot win against Sue Sansom, Sue Bender and Pam Grant (skip) to win the day's first prize.
Vicki Herman won the meat raffle and Joan Roche collected the vegie tray. We thank Rapley's Mid Town Meats for continuing to support our club. A big thank you to Sandra for the lovely fruit and vegie trays for our raffle.
