On Saturday the weather closed in causing bowls to be washed out.
On Sunday we had 3 games of triples and 2 games of pairs with the winners decided by Lucky Rinks. First place went to Jan Rapkins and Jeremy Seaton (skip) who showed their continued top form to lead all the way for a 20 to 7 win over Gail Palmer and Baxter Smith (skip). Second place went to Sue Waldock, Sue Bender and Barry Lymbery (skip) who jumped out to a 15 to 8 lead after 11 ends and they continued to attack the jack as they ran out 21 to 10 winners against Kaye Whiffen, Pam Grant and Ken Burrows (skip).
President's Pairs: One first round match in the President's Pairs was played on Friday between Peter Dillon and Peter Jones (skip) and Darrell Goodridge and Les Waldock (skip). What a great game this was with scores level on 5 occasions during the game and getting down to the wire the lead changed on each of the last 3 ends and on the last end Peter Dillon and Peter Jones (skip) put in one of their best ends of the day as they came from behind to take the contest 22 to 19. This result shows what a great tournament this concept provides. To ponder: The less we deserve good fortune, the more we hope for it.
Narooma women's bowls was washed out.

Bowls
Club Dalmeny: The weather taunted us as usual, raining over the weekend and stopping an hour short of Monday's playing time with it clearing for the rest of the day, to put paid to any bowls. It's not that we don't appreciate the rain but not on bowling days.
On Thursday 24 bowlers turned up for the end of month open draw organised by Chef Keith and gospeller Bob and the lowest winning margin decided the winners on four in our lucky scraper Doug, Dine-back Streamer and Chef Keith from the runners-up on five in Hel Blackman, Mayoress Olwyn and Shark Finn. No one scored a resting toucher and the $107 jackpot didn't go off.
Wrong bias sinners were our Macedonian Illya and Lois Mac or Greg and with Marg Joiner running the lady bowlers raffle well for herself with first prize along with winners Snoopy Leigh, Ken Rabbits and Judge Blackman. It was great to see our oldest player Cobber Dudley Drake back on the green sharing half a game with gospeller Bob
With the start of the Friday night tradies only eight regular twilight bowlers organised by Brett or Graham were on the green which saw the winners in Steal Forest and the Goose with our sponsors' prize draws going to 100-y Calaghan, IOU Ian and Bob Less.
We would love to see all interested players over the age of 12 to join in on Friday nights for two hours of fun bowls and the signing on sheet will be on the cupboard under the notice board. Games are played in a pairs format (but single entries accepted) and start at 5.30pm so names need to be on the sheet by 4.30pm in order to help organiser Brett with the cards.
The forecast weekend rain put paid to the Fishos/Bowlers annual charity match which has postponed to next Sunday and also stopped play in the final of the mixed pairs championships between Kath Whiskey an Rye and the Sienna couple Marg and Don which should also now be decided next weekend.
Listen out for playing times and come along next week to cheer on Kath and Buzz and Marg and Don in what should be an exciting final between two evenly matched pairs. Look out also for the 100-Up draw which has also been delayed due to the rain.
