A fire in a private pine forest on Platts Road, Mila, near Bombala, continues to burn under north west winds, the RFS (Rural Fire Service) has said.

"Crews are working to control a bush fire burning near Platts Rd, Mila approximately 10km south of Bombala. The fire is moving in a south easterly direction under north west winds," the RFS said.
"There is currently no immediate threat to property."
A spokesman for the RFS said that crews were working with NPWS crews and also being assisted by aircraft including a large air tanker which has been used to drop fire retardant on the fire.
The RFS has said the cause of the fire is not known at this stage. However local sources said there was a lot of lightning yesterday evening in the area.
