Emergency services have not yet found the 39-year-old snorkeller who was last seen at Richmond Beach in the Murramarang National Park, north of Batemans Bay.

It is understood the snorkeller was an ACT man, who entered the water at about 3.30pm on Monday, January 25.

With strong southerly conditions on Wednesday, January 27, lifesavers' efforts to conduct in-water searches were put on hold.

Far South Coast Director of Lifesaving Cheryl McCarthy said the weather and poor visibility were not suitable for water teams.

However, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Lifesaver 23 was continuing to search by air as well as Marine Area Command Police.
