The seven people all stayed on level eight of Brisbane's Mercure Hotel between February 17 and 21, with two people in adjacent rooms testing positive for the virus.

An eighth person who stayed on the floor at that time is still in hotel quarantine.

The two hotel quests who have the virus were on a Qatar Airways flight that arrived in Brisbane on February 17.

Another Queenslander who was on the flight and a New Zealander, who is now in that country, also have the virus.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says it's likely transmission occurred on the plane rather than inside the hotel.

"It probably is just coincidence that we had the two people next to each other in those rooms, so I'm just taking a very cautious approach," she told reporters on Friday.

"We don't want anything to derail our rollout of the vaccine.

"That's what we all need to concentrate on, that's what we need to do, that's what's happening."

Another 74 people who were on the flight are extending their quarantine by five days until Monday.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the AstraZeneca vaccine will be rolled out at two regional hubs in Bundaberg and Logan.

The government will also speed up the rollout in the Torres Strait Islands due to concerns about high levels of COVID-19 infection in nearby Papua New Guinea.

"It's only a matter of kilometres, and there's a lot of trade and commerce that usually happens, and we are seeing more and more cases, unfortunately, in Papua New Guinea," Ms Palaszczuk said.

Queensland recorded one virus case in a worker who arrived on a charter flight from PNG's Ok Tedi mine earlier this week.

Ok Tedi Mining Limited has already suspended all flights to the state for the next week at least.

The premier said the growing number of hotel quarantine cases highlighted the need for a purpose-built facility away from urban centres.

The Wagner Group wants to build a facility which would host up to 1000 travellers and 300 staff at Wellcamp Airport near Toowoomba.

The state supports the project, but the federal government has called for more information, so it remains deadlocked.

"The time has now come, we need a yes or no," Ms Palaszczuk said.

Queensland will relax guest limits on weddings and funerals after the state went 58 days without a case of community transmission.

Up to 200 people will be able to attend weddings or funerals with a COVID-safe plan from Monday.

Meanwhile, a Gold Coast nurse has recovered from an adverse reaction to the Pfizer vaccine.

The nurse had an anaphylactic reaction after being given the jab on Thursday afternoon.

The nurse had a history of anaphylaxis and was under observation at the time.

"The response was prompt and effective and the patient received the appropriate treatment and has since recovered," a spokesperson told AAP on Friday.

They said people with a history of anaphylaxis were warned not to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
