The Eurobodalla Clubs have combined to provide grants to community-based organisations doing well across our region. Last year, in spite of the COVID-19 shutdown, during which all clubs were shut for a period of time, the combined contribution into programs across Eurobodalla amounted to over $100,000.
Category 1 funding is specifically for local projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community and are aimed at improving the living standards of low-income and disadvantaged communities.
Eligible community groups:
- Community welfare and social services
- Community development
- Community health services
- Employment assistance activities.
Last year, recipients included Narooma Surf Club, Restorative Yoga for Mental Health, PCYC, Lifeline South Coast, Breastfeeding Association - Eurobodalla, Cancer Council Eurobodalla, Little Wings Eurobodalla, Live Life Get Active Eurobodalla and many more.
Sari Boschiero from the Cancer Council said, "It is through events like Stars of Eurobodalla that we can continue to provide cancer patients and their families in the Eurobodalla Shire with cancer support and information services such as home help, transport to treatment, 13 11 20 support line, cancer prevention programs, local advocacy, cancer research and offer access to free financial, legal and emotional support. Funds raised stay local, allowing Cancer Council NSW to continue to provide access to practical support services in the region."
